Hikmah dari buku bacaan ketika kelas 2 SD
Sewaktu saya masih kecil kira-kira saya masih kelas 2 SD saya sering membaca buku-buku tentang kepahlawanan dan beberapa buku fiksi tentang cerita keberhasilan dan kegagalan seseorang. Suatu waktu saya membaca buku yang mengisahkan 2 orang sahabat yang mempunyai perilaku dan perangai yang sangat berbeda. Kedua orang ini pada mulanya memiliki kesamaan dalam hidup bersama dengan orang tua masing-masing. Namun setelah menginjak remaja keduanya telah memiliki perbedaan yang cukup significant mengenai perilaku dan perangainya. Sebut saja si A mempunyai perangai yang buruk, suka mabuk-mabukan dan berperilaku jelek hingga menyebabkan si A terjerumus ke dalam hal-hal yang kurang sepantasnya dilakukan. Berbeda dengan si B, sosok remaja ini sangat santun, disebutkan si B juga rajin mengaji, belajar rajin, dan berperilaku sangat baik hingga disenangi oleh keluarga dan masyarakat sekitarnya.
Menginjak usia dewasa, keduanya sama-sama melanjutkan di perguruan tinggi. Keduanya sama-sama masuk ke fakultas teknik karena memang sebenarnya cita-cita kedua orang sahabat ini adalah menjadi seorang insinyur. Lantas bagaimana kisah selanjutnya dari kedua sahabat ini? Pasti anda semua sudah bisa menebaknya. Ya, karena buku yang saya baca ini adalah buku untuk dibaca anak-anak SD seusia saya waktu itu. Alhasil, keduanya tumbuh dan berkembang menjadi sosok yang sangat berlainan. Si A akhirnya gagal dalam kuliah dan memilih hidup menjadi seorang preman dan berperilaku membuat kerusuhan di masyarakat. Sedangkan si B akhirnya menjadi seorang insinyur pembangunan dan berhasil memiliki perusahaan besar dan sukses dalam bidang yang digelutinya.
Lantas apa yang menarik dari cerita yang pernah saya baca ketika saya masih kelas 2 SD tersebut? 
Hmmm, pasti ada diantara anda bertanya, apakah saya sudah fasih membaca ketika kelas 2 SD tersebut? saya jawab : Ya, bahkan lancar Bukan itu maksud saya, suatu hal yang menarik dari buku yang telah saya baca tersebut adalah sesuatu yang berhasil tertanam dalam benak saya waktu itu hingga saya bercita-cita ingin menjadi sosok si B yang ada di cerita itu. Hampir seluruh waktu dan hidup saya ketika itu benar-benar termotivasi hanya gara-gara saya membaca kisah dari buku tersebut. Ya, sewaktu SD memang saya bercita-cita ingin menjadi sosok seperti yang tergambarkan dalam cerita tadi. Menjadi anak baik, sukses dalam sekolah, kuliah bekerja dan bisa mencapai segala sesuatu yang saya inginkan sesuai yang saya impikan. Apakah saya sudah seperti si B yang ada di buku itu? Hmmm…belum kali ya
Yang jelas hikmah dari membaca buku yang pernah saya lakukan waktu saya kelas 2 SD itu (sekitar tahun 1983 = sekitar 27 tahun yang lalu ) sangat menginspirasi pikiran saya selama saya hidup untuk menjadi sosok yang minimal mirip dengan perilaku dan kesuksesan tokoh si B tersebut. Namun tentunya kendala dan hambatan tiap orang pasti tidak sama, tapi satu hal yang bisa kita ambil hikmah dari cerita tersebut adalah bagaimanapun kita harus benar-benar berupaya keras dan semaksimal mungkin untuk merealisasikan apapun yang pernah terinspirasi dan termotivasi baik itu dari orang lain ataupun hanya sekedar dari buku-buku bacaan seperti yang saya ceritakan tadi. Sukses…!!
